" Exciting Year "
Dear Friends and Family,
This has been an exciting year for Lena and me. This year we celebrated our 10th year since being ordained as ministers, our 10th year since incorporating Healing Hands Ministry as a 501c3 organization, our 50th wedding anniversary, and Lena celebrated her 70th birthday. Also it was my 50th year since accepting Jesus as my Savior. We give God thanks for all of this. We even updated our picture on our website and newsletter. The zeros in the numbers represent: “there’s nothing (zero) my God can’t do.”
Our Golden Wedding Anniversary
50 Years Together, August 8th 1964 - 2014
Couples that Prays Together, Stays Together.
Several weeks ago we had the opportunity to be interviewed at a Benton Harbor radio station. What an experience! We were able to tell a little about Healing Hands Ministry and Lena shared her testimony of how God carried her through her cancer surgery. She had a complete hysterectomy without having any pain and needed no pain medication, no chemotherapy or radiation, and was able to go home in just 24 hours after her surgery. There were a couple ladies that were outside the radio station listening to the radio, and came inside the station all excited about what they were hearing. We had one lady call into the station and wanted us to come to her church. You never know, God might just direct us to her church someday.
God has been opening up doors for us. We have ministered at nine new churches this year, and have seen many people get saved, healed, and delivered.
We will be holding a Healing and Miracle service this week-end at a Spanish speaking church. We will be using an interpreter. This is the second Spanish church that we have ministered at. God has been tearing down walls and opening up doors in all denominations, no matter the nationality or race. God sees and loves everyone the same.
We have seen more people giving their hearts to the Lord then ever before. We were ministering at a church three weeks ago and Lena was praying for people who were in need of healing. She asked one lady what she needed healing for and the lady responded, “I need to get saved”. Lena led four people to the Lord during that service. People are becoming more aware of their need for Jesus to become part of their lives. Watching people get healed is exciting, but watching them ask Jesus to come into their heart and forgive them of all their sins is even more exciting. The way the world is going today, people are getting more and more aware of their need for a Savior. When you find yourself looking for answers and there is no place to turn, you can always turn to Jesus. For He is the answer. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-29 "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls”. There is no better place to be than in the hands of Jesus.
While at another church, I thought I was going to minister on healing, but instead the Lord changed things and had me minister on deliverance from habits. Most people think habits are something a Christian shouldn’t have, but guess what? Everyone has habits of one kind or another. The question is, do you want to get rid of your habits? Habits can be anything that controls part of your life. Over eating or under eating, gossiping, smoking, drinking, anger, watching to much TV, thinking just about yourself, finding fault with others, and the list goes on and on. The question the Lord had me ask was, “do you want to be delivered from your habits?” Almost everyone stood up and wanted to be delivered form one sort of habit or another. At the end of the service the pastor turned to me and said, “Those people have been delivered. It’s almost 3pm and they’re still lingering around the alter. They never do that, they’re always in a hurry to leave church, but look at them”. Maybe it’s time for us to be delivered from some habits as well.
Only Jesus can give you eternal life and set you free from the things that are controlling, and holding you captive. Would you consider making Him Lord and Savior of your life?
